Dera has worked in law firms since 1994, and specifically with Attorney
Michelle T.L. Hernandez since she relocated from Texas to Wisconsin in 1998.
Her areas of primary focus as a paralegal, and also the areas in which she
plans to focus her practice as a future attorney, include estate planning,
probate, trust administration, and business law.
Dera graduated in 1997 from San Antonio College with an Associate in
Applied Science degree in Legal Assisting. She went on to obtain her
Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University in 2002, with a major in
Criminal Justice Administration. She is currently pursuing her law degree
in the part-time, evening program at Marquette University Law School, and
plans to complete her law degree in December of 2008.
When not working or studying, Dera enjoys spending time with her daughter
and with her close friends. As a lifetime member of the International
Thespian Society, Dera greatly appreciates the theater. She also enjoys
politics, reading, music, and travel.
